Tell the Government to Back OFF!
Marijuana is SAFER!
The government has been keeping the secret of Marijuana. The truth is that they don’t want us to know is what was discovered “August 18, 1974 Washington Post newspaper feature, “THC slowed the growth of lung cancers, br
east cancers and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent.”marijuana-cures-cancer-us-government-has-known-since-1974/.
They are hiding the truth and now we know that the government has been lying to us about Marijuana. It is time for us to tell the government to please back off!
We have a right to medicate and use alternative medicines in the way GOD intended us to use them.
The government continues to penalize, chastise, criminalize, and condemn people for choosing this safer healthier, less addictive adjunctive treatment for pain. People “are recognizing that more health professionals that are experienced in treatment, recovery and addiction counseling agree that “The acute toxicity of cannabis is very low. There are no confirmed cases of human deaths from cannabis poisoning in the world medical literature”druglibrary.org/schaffer/hemp/general/who-probable.htm.
The government has known that Marijuana cures cancer since 1974. We are into 2012 and people are just starting to realize that we have been duped by the government. How many people do you know that have died of cancer? Did you know that “It is estimated that about 555,500 Americans will die from cancer, corresponding to 1,500 deaths per day” http://www.cancure.org/statistics.htm.
How many people do you personally that could have benefited from the use of marijuana as it is used to shrink or reduce 36% of tumor growth? If you are like a lot of people reading this right now, you know that something isn’t right. We do not understand, we do not compute, and we do not recognize the government’s refusal to assist in legalization efforts.
Instead of allowing us to choose this safer, and less harmful plant they prosecute us, condemn us, take away our jobs, take away our children, take away our rights and yet, we are expected to “understand rationale for laws covering use of marijuana and medical marijuana, understand consequences of irresponsible use on themselves and others, pharmacological overview, long term physical, psychological and social problems, and treatment resources.” http://eipmichigan.com/drugs/marijuana/marijuana-level-1/
This article addresses the upside down rationale, laws, consequences, and other such false tactics used by the government to prevent people from using this valuable herb. When people understand that this plant is completely safe, natural, and none habit forming then maybe we can stop criminalizing people for choosing a safer way to medicate. The rationale is not clear, it is quite muddied, and research will present proof that tears apart the government’s tainted view of Marijuana.
Understand rationale for laws covering use of marijuana and medical marijuana
How can we understand the laws when the laws, when the laws are put in place by the people are being ripped apart by the federal government in courts of law, and by public officials “Although the federal government formally opposes the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes, twenty-six states and the District of Columbia had laws enabling the use of marijuana for medicinal purposes under specific circumstances as of December 31, 2000.1” http://www.impacteen.org/generalarea_PDFs/medicalmarijuanapaper100301.pdf.
We have a right to medicate with safer alternatives. The government wants us to completely rely on unsafe pharmaceuticals that do not cure cancer, but only mask the effects of cancer. If cancer is a diagnosis there are not very many people who would choose the mask instead of being able to choose the cure. The law recognizes that the Federal Government and The People may have conflict in interest. That is why our founding fathers brought forward the “The Tenth Amendment which indicates that the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Understand consequences of irresponsible use on themselves and others” http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/bill_of_rights_transcript.html.
The law continuously gets ignored as attention from Michigan Medical Marijuana Patients and the Citizens of other States recognizing medical Marijuana are still persecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Please understand that according the Tenth Amendment we have a right to choose Marijuana, and we have the support of the “51 percent continues to think that marijuana use should be illegal. But support for specifically allowing doctors to prescribe marijuana for serious medical conditions – or legalized “medical” marijuana – is far stronger: 77 percent Americans think it should be allowed” http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57327004-503544/poll-public-supports-medical-marijuana-but-not-full-pot-legalization/
The State of Michigan Citizens recognized the value of Marijuana when an overwhelming majority of voter’s supported the “Michigan Medical Marihuana Act — passed by 63 percent of voters in 2008 — is entirely pre-empted by federal drug law.” http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2011-07-08-medical-marijuana_n.htm. This validates that the people know the value of Marijuana medicinally and the government cannot deny it any longer. In fact Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette is just one of the guilty government Crony’s trying to put a stop to the people’s majority vote. Schuette is just one name on a long list of offenders according to sources “Large-scale operators must be stopped, and even smaller-scale users and distributors are not shielded from federal prosecution, “even where those activities purport to comply with state law,” says the memo signed by U.S. Deputy Attorney General James Cole” http://www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2011-07-08-medical-marijuana_n.htm
The people voted for marijuana as a safer alternative to adjunctive pain therapy. People argue that marijuana should only be allowed for use by patients with severe pain. Why should people with severe pain be the only people to value the medicinal remedies available in Marijuana? Marijuana has a wide spectrum of herbal and holistic uses.
Pharmacological overview
The pharmacological overview is the debate and fire seat when it comes to Marijuana Prohibition. According to the government “Marijuana is classified by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) as an illegal Schedule I drug which has no accepted medical use. However, recent studies have shown that medical marijuana is effective in controlling chronic non-cancer pain, alleviating nausea and vomiting associated with chemotherapy, treating wasting syndrome associated with AIDS, and controlling muscle spasms due to multiple sclerosis” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22129912
The uses are endless and the testimonies are validated by healthcare providers, especially those that have had clinical experience with its herbal benefits. The positive effects of cannabis are noted in “Vaporized cannabis does not meaningfully affect opioid plasma levels and may even augment the efficacy of oxycodone and morphine in patients with chronic non-cancer pain” http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22089341. Essentially, people prefer Marijuana to opiates. In fact the body appreciates this choice even more as it doesn’t damage the plasma levels the same way that opiates do.
Marijuana is not harmful and healthcare professionals are finally coming forward with valuable studies that prove:
- “Marijuana is the most commonly used illicit drug in the United States, according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. In 2009, 16.7 million Americans ages 12 and older reported using marijuana at least once in the month prior to being surveyed.
- In addition, since 1996, 16 states and Washington, D.C., have legalized the medical use of marijuana to help manage the symptoms of many diseases, including cancer, AIDS and glaucoma” http://www.uab.edu/news/latest/item/1952-marijuana-smoke-not-as-damaging-to-lungs-as-cigarette-smoke
Marijuana is not harmful, deadly, lethal, toxic, damaging, or anything else that the radical right wing extremists want you to believe. They want you to believe that marijuana is the devils drug, and it will open the door to the use of other illegal drugs. They have gone as far as to call it “The Gateway Drug,” and have claimed that you will kill brain cells from using marijuana.
Psychological Problems Associated with Marijuana
This is the part that really dumbfounds a person. They want to say that if you use marijuana you are going to burn all of your brain cells and become a zombie that is not capable of formulating a complete sentence, let alone a complete thought. That is funny, but seriously “According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), depression, anxiety, and personality disturbances have been associated with marijuana use. However, the NIDA says it is not known whether marijuana use is an attempt to self-medicate an already existing mental health problem, or whether marijuana use leads to mental disorders (or both)” http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/news/20050503/federal-report-marijuana-causes-mental-illness. That means that of the people tested, they cannot confirm or deny mental disorders caused by using marijuana. In fact in some cases it has been proven and research will support the claim that “low-dose marijuana appeared to improve depression; the researchers are hoping to develop a new drug similar to the idea of medical marijuana for depression.” http://www.healthyplace.com/addictions/marijuana-addiction/marijuana-and-depression-a-depressant-or-treatment/. Health professionals conclude “Paul P. Casadonte, MD, a psychiatrist and associate clinical professor at New York University, cautions in an interview that research is not yet strong enough to show a causal link between marijuana use and serious mental disorders” http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/news/20050503/federal-report-marijuana-causes-mental-illness.
The government is lying to us about the brain damage, and mental disorders that can occur while using, or because of using marijuana. How about those social problems that Marijuana can cause? People need to examine those social problems and determine the root cause of these problems closely.
Social problems caused by Marijuana
The only social problems that are clear is that Marijuana is highly discriminated against and organizations, corporations, and entities have the right because “the law explicitly permits employers to disallow on-site medical-marijuana use, but remains mum about medical-marijuana use outside the workplace.” http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2015274787_medpot10m.html.
It is socially acceptable to have a prescription for opiates, and other pain killers, which are deadly and damaging to the human body. You can frequent bars, and buy alcohol and drink, or smoke cigarettes by the cartons. However, if a person shall choose to medicate with a harmless herb they face prison time, loss of employment, loss of other such valuable assets.
People who smoke are perceived to be stoners who are not capable of completing a thought, let alone a complete sentence. We have countless examples of people that say because “He smoked marijuana in the 1960s, and 1970s doomed his nomination to the Supreme Court by intensifying questions about his judgment, his personal ethics and his views on important social issues, legal experts said” http://pqasb.pqarchiver.com/chicagotribune/access/24853081.html?dids=24853081:24853081&FMT=ABS&FMTS=ABS:FT&type=current&date=Nov+08%2C+1987&author=Christopher+Drew%2C+a+member+of+The+Tribune%27s+Washington+bureau+and+Joseph+R+Tybor%2C+The+Tribune%27s+legal+affairs+writer+Tribune+reporters+Ray+Gibson%2C+Glen+Elsasser+and+John+Camper+contributed+to+this+report&pub=Chicago+Tribune+%28pre-1997+Fulltext%29&desc=GINSBURG+VERDICT+REVELATION+OF+MARIJUANA+SMOKING+WAS+FINAL+STRAW+FOR+FLAWED+NOMINEE&pqatl=google
People are obviously misguided “Marijuana is the third most popular recreational drug in America (behind only alcohol and tobacco), and has been used by nearly 100 million Americans” http://norml.org/marijuana. We can go as far as to say that “50,000 people die each year from alcohol poisoning. Similarly, more than 400,000 deaths each year are attributed to tobacco smoking. By comparison, marijuana is nontoxic and cannot cause death by overdose.” http://norml.org/marijuana
The government says its ok citizens, please partake in the legal consumption of alcohol, and tobacco laced with nicotine, but be prepared to face the law if you choose marijuana. The government seems hell bent on sending as many citizens as it can to face jail time for the harmless Marijuana plant.
Treatment resources for Marijuana
The treatment would be for the federal government to kindly stop prosecuting people who choose to medicate with marijuana. Lighten up on the laws that prosecute these people look at Marijuana, “Compared to other substances, marijuana is not very addicting. It is estimated that 32% of tobacco users will become addicted, 23% of heroin users, 17% of cocaine users, and 15% of alcohol users. Cocaine and heroin are more physically harmful and nicotine is much more addictive. It is much harder to quit smoking cigarettes than it is to quit smoking pot.” http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/the-teenage-mind/201012/is-marijuana-addictive
Wake up the federal government, health care officials, public officials and law enforcement officials so that these people with finally recognize that “Eight in 10 Americans support legalizing marijuana for medical use and nearly half favor decriminalizing the drug more generally, both far higher than a decade ago” http://abcnews.go.com/PollingUnit/Politics/medical-marijuana-abc-news-poll-analysis/story?id=9586503#.TzQkQPKfaAI
